Boston's Back Bay is anything but back-end. Boasting some of the best maintained 19th century urban architecture in the United States, Back Bay is bursting with expensive and beautiful Victorian brownstones and upscale town homes in its northern residential area. Even the streets in Back Bay are ritzy - the area is home to the famous Newbury Street where high-end boutiques and trendy dining abound and Commonwealth Avenue, a large parkway divided by a grassy mall with outdoor art. At the southern end of Back Bay is an equally upscale commercial district, where the high-rise Prudential Center and Copley Place malls draw crowds.
